One of the most effective ways to bring patients online is to send them an SMS text from your clinical system.

When a patient calls the practice, the first question is “Could you tell me your name and date of birth please?”

Look up the patient on your clinical system.  The vast majority have a mobile number, so you can now send them a standard sms text with the suggested wording below:

“The new faster and easier way to get help from us at [practice name] is to click the link to our website [practice website link] and then choose askmyGP”

Create your preset message now, and send it to a test patient with your own mobile number to check the link.
If you don’t yet have the askmyGP link on your website, you can use the patient link directly, which is found in your askmyGP staff side under Settings>System on the top right.
