We have been asked to supply usage data identified by practice to NHS England. The data consist of:
Practice code and name
Count of online consultations
Count of video consultations
Although we are not contractually required to do so, we have agreed in a spirit of solidarity. Practices who do not wish their data to be submitted should opt out by emailing [email protected]. Otherwise there is no action to take, as we send the data centrally.
NHS England have given the following message:
“As part of the national response to Covid-19, we have an urgent operational need to get some basic information from system vendors who have supplied online triage/consultation/video systems to GP practices. This is to allow us to focus our implementation team resources on the rapid deployment of systems to practices with no supplier currently, and to allow us to gauge the support needed to enable practices and their patients to gain the full benefit from using the systems once they are in place. We are asking all vendors on the DPS and GPIT Futures frameworks to provide this information, regardless of the procurement route that any practice went down.
We require some basic data from the vendors about their current and planned installed base, such as:
- Availability – what is installed and where, by GP practice
- Utilisation –the number of online and video consultations delivered using the systems once in place
Given the pace of the implementation process, we are initially asking for a daily feed of this information, so that we can highlight areas that require extra support to move towards the digital model.
You will appreciate we are moving at pace to enable this contribution to the national response to Covid-19, and so would be grateful for a rapid turnaround. Your efforts in responding to the challenges presented by Covid-19 are very much appreciated.”
